After Discharge

You will receive specific instructions from your doctor regarding your care after discharge from the Endoscopy Center. For your comfort and safety, we remind you of the following:

• Have someone stay with you until the next day.
• Do not drive, operate machinery or power tools, drink alcoholic beverages, or take any medications not prescribed by your doctor until the next day.
• Take it easy until your physician says you can return to your normal routine.
• Follow your physician’s instructions regarding diet, rest, and medication.
• It is natural to experience some discomfort following your procedure.
• Contact your physician if you feel you are having any problems after discharge. If you have a medical emergency and are unable to reach your doctor, call 911.

You will be asked to complete a questionnaire on the care you received during your stay. Your comments are very important to us and will help us improve our services. Our mission is to provide high quality, cost-effective care to patients requiring outpatient endoscopy procedures.

A member of the Endoscopy Center staff will call you within 48 hours of your procedure to check on your progress. Upon discharge from our center, you will be asked to provide us with a contact number for the next business day where you can be reached.
